Olympic and Paralympic legacy project somewhereto_ has teamed up with BAFTA-winner Adam Deacon to launch ‘somewhereto_ show off’ – a project dedicated to showcasing the talents of 16-25′s across the UK.
Artists, performers, dancers and musicians are invited to upload a 60 second video showcasing their talents. 20 finalists will be selected to perform to a panel of judges including Adam Deacon, at a secret London venue and of those, 10 winners will go on to perform on a bandstand to thousands at a sensational high-profile London venue. One final act will have the incredible opportunity to feature in their own film which will be directed by Adam Deacon in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, home of the 2016 Games.
Whether it’s singing, dancing, DJing, illustration, free running, flower arranging or football free-styling, show off your talent in a 60 second video. Anything goes — the somewhereto_ stage can be used to ‘show off’ in a number of ways.
At the Tailor of Shoreditch we pride ourselves on collaborations and knowledge sharing and having the chance to work with innovators and trail blazers such as the agency inkling who are behind an awesome new ‘social-business networking’ proposition.
A new ‘social-business networking’ site, getlunched.com is launching in beta today in the UK. The location-based network will bring together the best elements of sites like Linked In, Foursquare and Groupon for better business networking.
With a mobile app coming soon, Getlunched.com is leading the way in the new trend of location based networking. It allows people to search and meet with people in their local area for a value exchange over a lunch, or to simply access a great local lunch deal.
With a new wave of location based networking sites expected to launch in 2012, Getlunched.com offers something more than just location dating or shared interest meet-ups and gives location networking a much more valuable function.
Matt Bandy, getlunched.com co-founder, says: “Technology has brought us full circle allowing us to go back to networking the traditional way – face-to-face. We let people discover their local connections and give them a reason to meet up.” Lyndon Gasking, getlunched.com co-founder says: “getlunched.com is bringing back the tradition of value exchange. Whether for business, inspiration, friendship or dating, we want to develop a social ‘action’ network. People generally like to help other people given half a chance and a free lunch is a great incentive. People find a person they would like to connect with and agree the terms. ‘I’m buying, you’re buying, 50:50.”
With the UK working the longest hours in Europe and one third of British bosses ‘too busy to take a lunch break’* the site also aims to galvanise the nation into making lunch the most valuable hour of their day.
Launching in beta today, getlunched.com already has a burgeoning community on the site, including leading names from the media and creative industries.
getlunched.com is invite only at beta stage but a special invite-code has been created for a limited time for people to join – GetlunchedBETA.
The Tailor of Shoreditch was briefed to create an integrated campaign for Lee Jeans in order to create in-store excitement and engagement, and to build Lee’s social media presence. The campaign was executed during two weeks in November & December 2011.
The “Lee is You” campaign ran over two weeks and included in-store activity in the Lee Store Carnaby Street, London during the Grazia magazine shopping evening, the Lee store in Westfield Shopping Centre, London and the Lee store in Selfridges, Birmingham.
The in-store activity incorporated an interactive photo booth, POP and in-store graphics. Consumers flocked to the stores, had their photos taken in the booths and then instantly shared them on Facebook. The social media interaction also promoted further competitions and offers including a chance to win tickets to the exclusive party.
The client says: “We are really pleased with the results – to have gone from 500 fans to 5000 in a matter of weeks is fantastic and will act as a great basis for 2012. This campaign not only brought about a high level of interaction but also was a definite brand enhancer and we are confident we have captured and converted people into becoming new and loyal Lee consumers.”
Evaluation: Lee Jeans saw an 873% rise in views and a 2,388% rise in fan engagement on its Facebook page. The number of Facebook fans rose from 500 to 5,000 in two weeks.
